|About the Author
Paul W. Heimel has spent his life in Potter County, Pennsylvania, where famed crimefighter Eliot Ness spent the final years of his life and drew his last breath. A former journalist and corporate communications professional, he now serves as a member of the Potter County Board of Commissioners. He is the author of seven history books, including the critically acclaimed “1911: The Austin Flood" (Knox Books, 2011), the authoritative account of a tragic flood that claimed dozens of lives and nearly wiped out a thriving community. Heimel has written dozens of magazine articles and has appeared on numerous television documentaries and interview programs for his work on the life of Eliot Ness. Vanity Fair magazine recently declared him "the dean of Eliot Ness reseachers."
